Assistant Chief Flight Instructor (Clinical Track) Job at Marshall University – 4.4 in Huntington, WV

Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with MU

BNFS syllabi and FAA regulations and procedures. Prepare schedules, maintain records, and ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in each flight course. Assist the Chief Instructor in managing training activities, Training Course Outlines (TCO) and ensure compliance with FAA and TSA regulatory requirements. Mentor and supervise Flight Instructors. Assist the BNFS Director and Chief Instructor on safety and security related responsibilities. Support day, night

and weekend flight training operations. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Aviation, or a related field

Ability to perform all fight maneuvers at Commercial standards

Meet FAR 141 .36 Assistant chief instructor qualifications

Meet FAR 61.57 recent flight experience requirements r Current FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument Airplane.

Current FAA CFI, CFII, MEI

100 or more hours dual given as an MEI

Current FAA 2nd Class medical certificate or higher

In-depth knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations .

Ability to design goals and assess learning outcomes

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills .

Proven ability to simplify complex technical subject matter .

Excellent computer skills – Aviation and MS Office applications .

Ability to apply effective instructional knowledge and techniques

Exercise sound judgment at all times in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrate public speaking capability during the interview process.

Be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

Willing and able to work various shifts.

Valid State issued driver’s license

English proficient

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate or higher degree

Experience teaching in Part 141 flight school

Meet FAR 61.195 – training first-time flight instructor applicants

200 or more hours dual given as an MEI

1500 or more hours as pilot in command

Previous experience in computer-based training development

Previous classroom instruction experience
