The Global ASL fleet of 140 aircraft includes 17 aircraft types from the Boeing 747-400F to the ATR-72 turbo prop. The Group has confirmed 20 slots with Boeing for 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) aircraft. Delivery of these next-generation aircraft has started and will continue until 2023.
In 2020, despite the global disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, ASL’s airlines continued to operate with 80% global aircraft utilisation on average. The airlines operated more than 122,000 flight hours, carrying 810,000 tonnes of freight and 2,620,000 passengers.
While some of the group airlines were founded more than 40 and 50 years ago, ASL Aviation Holdings’ foundation essentially began in 1998 and the company has been profitable every year since its incorporation. Annual revenue now exceeds €1.1bn EUR.

The opportunity has arisen to work in the expanding ASL IT team. The team is tasked with focusing on the ASL Group’s vision of providing a single, unified suite of systems to enable it to operate in the most efficient manner possible. It’s doing this by standardising the applications used across the Group, providing swift and efficient interfacing between key applications and enabling insight into the vast array of collected data using Business Intelligence.
This role is for a developer that is keen to take on projects from design through to deployment (SDLC), working with people at all levels across multiple European countries and delivering high quality, robust mission-critical applications. A variety of technologies are currently employed, including VB.net, C# and Java.

The purpose is to work as part of the IT Strategy Delivery team, producing and maintaining high quality code for a variety of systems and projects across the ASL Group.
Engage in both team and individual development of systems and interfaces.
Produce, document, test and maintain code to company standards.
Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the Group to promote better engagement with the business
Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process
Knowledge of software development methodologies
Knowledge of relevant technologies (at least one of VB.net, C# or Java) and database management systems
At least two years experience in a development role.
Both back-end and front-end development experience.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
Contract: Full time, permanent position
Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00-17.30
