The aircraft on ground (AOG) Avionics Technician will be on a week (with exceptions listed below). This technician will be required to utilize their advanced knowledge and high level technical skills to inspect, test, adjust, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft and their sub-systems. All tasks performed will be in accordance with the current manufacturers specifications and manuals, company-approved procedures, FAA regulations, and customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs short notice travel for assigned aircraft on ground situations (AOG). As directed by the AOG coordinator.
Performs inspections, electronic troubleshooting, and repairs of the most complex nature on various aircraft systems and components on a variety of aircraft in a timely and professional manner with no rework and with a superior level of quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency.
Must be able to perform FAR, ELT, CVR, and FDR testing and repairs.
Independently capable of making sound technical decisions as a technician and/tioning as Production Inspector. Efficiently and effectively, troubleshoot and function test, referencing the current manufacturers technical documents and technical support from across a variety of airframe, engine and component systems.
Will lead the AOG project from start to finish. Capable of accepting ownership of the assigned project work scope and establishing a return to service target for the customer based on the information examined and provided.
Expertly prepare and complete various documents for maintenance/ modification record keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals.
Demonstrate proficient use of the Elliott Aviation Work em by completing accurate and timely listing of discrepancies, and completing accurate corrective action statements including completion of Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements ( 91.417).
Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State and local regulations, and Elliott Aviations Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes.
Perform related duties, as assigned. When not supporting an AOG situation you will be required to support the applicable locations Avionics team in a normal workday schedule or as assigned.
Airframe and Power plant Certificate Required.
Valid drivers license Required.
Current passport Required.
FCC license Preferred.
RVSM certification for Elliott Aviation Required within 90 days of employment.
Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements.
Must obtain & retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector
(Blue stamp) Required.
Must be willing to manage an AOG project with both experienced
technicians and junior technicians with a calm demeanor.
Ability to communicate well, in advanced/complex situations
Organizational skills and attention to details
Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Must possess excellent electrical aptitude and a desire to initiate
improvements with in defined boundaries
Previous Leadership and Supervisory experience preferred.
Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally lifts up to 100 lbs.
