SUMMARY: The H-60 Aircraft Mechanic II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, corrosion control, preservation/de-preservation
Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in the activities plan and daily flight schedule
Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, pneumatic, hydraulic, ventilation and heating, flight surfaces and controls, dynamic components, and powerplant systems.
Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement, and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO).
Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/subcomponents to include rigging of flight control.
Read and interpret manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Confined space operations to include fuel cell entry
Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
General aircraft maintenance
Use chemical sealants.
Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

4+ years H-60 rotary wing experience and completion of H-60 Type Model Series training
Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, NAMP programs, and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
Previous experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance.
Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.
Thorough working knowledge of aircraft maintenance records.
Working understanding of the aircraft and aircraft systems.
Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd and weekend shift as required
Must be able to work flexible schedule as required
Must be able to provide maintenance support for actual SAR missions within two hours of notification for weekends, holidays, and before/after normal services hours as required
Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

7+ years rotary wing maintenance experience
Previous H-60 Safe for Flight designation
Successful completion of Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (C-555-0053)
Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) for Airframes, Power Plants and/or Electrical Systems
Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for Line, Corrosion Control, Airframes, Power Plants and/or Electrical/Avionics Systems
Automated Track and Balancing System (ATABS) Course (NATEC provides)
Previously certified Tire and Wheel
Previously certified Hydraulic Contamination
Previously certified H-60 Plane Captain
Previously certified H-60 Landing Signal Enlisted (LSE)
OTHER(INCLUDE LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.):

The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing
Shall be able to travel in support of detachment operations as required
