Aircraft Technician needed at GSO Service Center to work with an established FAR 145 Repair Station and will be responsible for assigned maintenance tasks and associated inspections, functional/operational checks, and troubleshooting affected aircraft systems.
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of maintenance software. Windows operating systems and Microsoft office products.
Knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements and inspection procedures and practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work with time constraints and challenging situations.
Ability to read work orders, blueprints, diagrams, manuals and process specifications, follow sequence of planned operations.
Knowledge in basic aircraft systems (electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc)
Basic knowledge of reciprocating, turbo prop and turbine engines.
Basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to apply technical knowledge to the repair of aircraft while properly documenting all work performed.
Ability to properly execute company paperwork and other documentation.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Ability to adapt to a given situation effectively and calmly.
Experience: (Preferred but not required)
Knowledge of 14 CFR part 43 operations: 1 year
Knowledge of 14 CFR parts 91 and 145 operations: 1 year
Knowledge of FAR 145 repair stations: 1 year
Knowledge of part 135 charter aircraft operations: 6 months
Knowledge in general aviation aircraft ( Bonanza, Baron, Cirrus, 172,182,Piper, Mooney, etc): 1-3 years
King Air knowledge: 1-3 years
Citation business jet knowledge (525,550,560,Ultra, Mustang, etc.): 1-3 years
Beechcraft business jet knowledge (Beechjet, Hawker, etc): 1-3 years
Pitatus PC-12 aircraft: 1-3 years
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to operational equipment noise, heat and cold, dust, aircraft fuel odors and common chemicals.
Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by FAR regulations.
Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided equipment (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
