Aircraft Interior Shop Manager

The Aircraft Interior Shop Manager is universally proficient in all aspect of business aircraft interior tasks including interior component removal, installation and adjustments, fabrication and refurbishing of aircraft interiors items, carpet and trim, fabrication of seat foam, sewing and seat upholstery and cabinetry repairs and refinishing. The Shop Manager has ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day functions of the respective site with direct reporting to the Interiors Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervision of the removal and installation of aircraft interiors components

Supervision of the fabrication and refurbishing and refinishing of interior components, including panels, seats, carpets, cabinetry, etc.

Supervision of the upholstery refurbishing

Performs duties in compliance with regulations, including FAA, OSHA, and EPA

Additional other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
Five years background in private aviation interior operations

Must be a team player with flexibility for different roles and shifts as needed

Strive for highest of quality work and efficiency

Physical fitness and ability to work with respirator and lift 60 pounds

Ability to work at offsite locations and assisting other departments as needed

Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language

Physical Requirements:
Ability to be willing to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft in the air) using fall protection safety gear

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs

Ability to lift 70lbs or more

Ability to operate basic hand tools and ground equipment

Ability to work in confined spaces

Non-Physical Requirements:
Ability to learn and use technical manuals

Good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively

Problem solver by effectively reading and interpreting maintenance, wiring, and illustrated parts manuals

Ability to communicate both in writing and orally with co-workers, customers, and Jet East leadership

Must be able to perform repairs effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations

Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers

Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets

Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
