Summary: Entry Level Technician/Driver (Hybrid Role) Position – Responsible for performing skilled tasks in the service, maintenance, and repair of airplane wheels and braking systems, and driving, by performing the following duties:

Technician Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deflate tires. *
  • Responsible for breaking torque and bead of tires. *
  • Removes bearings and related hardware including bolts, washers, and nuts. *
  • Cleans hardware and wheels in an aqueous or solvent based machine. *
  • Removes paint occasionally with a dry system such as bead blast. *
  • Operates heavy-duty hydraulic jacks and other equipment to perform wheel maintenance functions. *
  • Load/unload truck with wheels, ensuring they are safely secured.
  • Controls operations of equipment or systems
  • Communicates effectively
  • Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles per company policy.
  • Reports delays, accidents or other traffic and transportation situations to bases/manager or other vehicles using mobile phone (Bluetooth/Hands-free).
  • Inspects vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working conditions.
  • Driving will include in-state and out of state travel.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Assists other departments when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Motor Vehicle Record and Background Check Required.

Must have a valid, active driver’s license.

Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to work cooperatively within timelines provided and meet production requirements assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour
