RAAF Base East Sale is a Royal Australian Air Force military air base and training school located in Sale, Victoria. It is located 220km North East of Melbourne in the Gippsland region and supports a capacity of approximately 700 personnel.

The base is one of the main training establishments of the RAAF and is home to:

• 1 Flying Training School – Air Combat Officer training
• School of Air Traffic Control
• Aviation Candidate Management Centre
• Central Flying School – flying instructor training
• The Roulettes aerobatic team
• 32 Squadron – King Air multi-role aircraft
• 30 Squadron (City of Sale) – airbase operations
• 453 Squadron East Sale Flight – Air Traffic Control
• Air Training Wing
• Officers’ Training School
• 1 Expeditionary Health Squadron Detachment East Sale.

Accommodation will be provided at the base on the Wednesday night only.

PLEASE NOTE: Students will need to make their own arrangements for travel to and from East Sale.

Participants will visit units responsible for Pilot, Air Combat Officer and Air Traffic Controller training. Students will have the opportunity to discuss a career in the Air Force with instructors and students undergoing training, and may participate in simulator training activities.
